Moorings for the Rosalie Moller wreck

Rosalie Moller Wreck, Red Sea, EgyptRosalie Moller Wreck,
Red Sea
With the conservation work on the SS Thistlegorm completed, HEPCA (Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association) has now turned its attention to another Red Sea wreck: the Rosalie Moller.

In the coming months, assessment of the site and the installation of a mooring system will take place to prevent further damage to this now fragile wreck. The Rosalie Moller lies at considerable depth (between 35 and 50 meters), therefore technical divers will be carrying out the work and the HEPCA mooring team will be supported by divers from various diving operators of the area. Conventional moorings will not be possible due to the depth and conditions, so a system of wires and ropes attached to the structure of the wreck is planned.

The conservation work is part of HEPCA’s Saving the Red Sea Wrecks Campaign.
