Divers and residents launch the “Clean-Up! Red Sea” campaign

Hurghada Harbor
Red Sea, Egypt
Residents and divers and in the Red Sea resort of Hurghada have launched a clean-up campaign on its beaches and reefs.

The volunteer group, “Clean Up! Red Sea”, is organizing rubbish collections in and around Hurghada in cooperation with the Red Sea Association and the Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association,.

The aim of Clean Up! Red Sea is to clean public beach areas that have little or no resources for cleaning. There are also going to be days dedicated to cleaning up underwater and the group is appealing for divers and snorkellers to take part in it (diving and rubbish collection equipment will be provided).

To find out more about the Clean Up! Red Sea campaign, email divecentre@gmail.com or see and join the Facebook group “Clean Up the Red Sea, Hurghada”.
